On behalf of the board and volunteers of the Elwood Booster Club I am pleased to inform you that the EBC would like to make a donation to support the following Elwood School District programs: 1. $4,500 for a theatrical sound system for the Boyd Auditorium in honor of Michael Maina 2. $3,000 for an outdoor sound system for the JGHS Football Field 3. $1,300 for college search resource materials for the Guidance Department at JGHS 4. $1,300 to go towards the JGHS Music Department Trip to Italy 5. $1,300 for four digital cameras and one video camera for the EMS Art/Computer Departments 6. $1,000 to cover expenses for Operation RESPECT programs at EMS 7. $500 for Y.E.S. program events at EMS 8. $500 for supplemental materials for EMS Science Department fish tanks 9. $400 for fees for “Smart Help” web-based software program at EMS 10. $400 for a music amplifier for EMS Music Department to be utilized for jazz band, musical theatre, concerts etc… 11. $300 for a Cultural Arts experience for Italian Foreign Language students at EMS Total Donation - $14,500 Additionally we would like to donate three video cameras: one each for Harley, Boyd and JGHS for schools of the teachers who participated in last year’s “Are You Smarter Than an Elwood 5th Grader”. Please note the above donation is in addition to the donations already made to benefit the district through the EBC in the last year, including: 1. $5,000 to refurbish the Harley Courtyard. 2. $500 to the JGHS Community Service Club for the Carol Dano Senior Citizen’s Theatre Night. 3. $250 for materials to Tyler Mantaring, Eagle Scout, to refurbish the courtyard at JGHS. These donations have been made possible by the contributions of our residents and support of the EBC’s fundraising efforts over the last year. We are very happy to be able to provide over $20,000 in enhancements to our district in our inaugural year. The EBC plans to continue to run enrichment and fundraising programs and events to benefit the students in all schools.
